What is It’s Essential?

It’s Essential is a community outreach initiative under The Walker Academy of Film Inc. dedicated to providing essential care packages to homeless men, women, and children in need.

These packages include everyday items most of us take for granted; socks, underwear, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, sanitary napkins, and more. Each package is a small but powerful reminder: you matter, you are seen, and you are not alone.

Why It Matters

Across Georgia, thousands of people face homelessness and lack access to basic hygiene items. This isn’t just about comfort. It’s about health, dignity, and hope. By giving essentials, we’re helping restore confidence and proving the foundation for brighter tomorrows.

What’s Inside a Care Package?

Every care package is throughly assesmbled with:

• Socks (new)

• Underware (new)

• Toothbrush + Toothpaste

• Soap

• Lotion

• Deodorant

• Sanitary Napkins (for women)

• Small snack

• Resource card with local shelters & hotlines

Get Involved

There are three powerful ways you can support It’s Essential:

1. Donate:

   Every $10 provides a full care package for someone in need.

2. Volunteer

   Join us for a “Packing Party” or help distribute care packages through our partner organizations.

3. Sponsor

   Businesses can become It’s Essential sponsors and help us reach hundreds of people each year. Sponsorship opportunities include recognition online, at events, and in the community.

Our Impact Goal

Year 1: Deliver 500 care packages across Georgia.

Year 2: Expand to multiple cities in the state.

Year 3: Launch Film & Give events combining film screenings with community service.
