A 6-Week Hands-On Film Production Workshop for Aspiring Creatives

Overview:

Never Stop Dreaming is a flagship program of The Walker Academy of Film Inc., designed to empower the next generation of storytellers by giving of storytellers by giving them real-world, hands-on experience in film production. Over the course of six weeks, 8-10 students will be immersed in the creative process, from concept to set, and behind the lens, learning from industry professionals and gaining the skills needed to thrive in media and entertainment.

What Students Will Learn:

  • Camera Operation: Learn how to handle professional-grade cameras and capture compelling visuals.

  • Lighting Techniques: Understand how to use light to shape mood, depth, and tone in film.

  • Stage & Set Design: Explore the fundamentals of creating visual environments that support storytelling.

  • Production Assistant Skills: Get an inside look at the engine of any set, organization, teamwork, and timing.

    Creative Collaboration: Work as a team to produce a short film or assist on a full feature by the end of the program.

Capstone Project:

Students will collaborate to produce a short film or assist in production on a featured film, applying all they’ve learned in a real production environment. The final project will be screened for family, friends, and community supporters at a special showcase event.

Outcomes:

Graduates of Never Stop Dreaming will leave with:

  • Practical film production experience.

  • A completed short film or credit as production for their portfolio.
